Komfueku community school cries for help

Komfueku (W/R) Dec. 21, GNA - Mr Daniel K. Appiah, an Opinion Leader at Komfueku, near Shama has appealed to the Shama Ahanta East Metropolitan Assembly (SAEMA) to go to the aid of the community basic school. He said the school, which was established through the initiative of the chiefs and people of the area in 1946, had not seen any rehabilitation or expansion since then.

Mr Appiah made the appeal during the first anniversary celebrations of the Royal Keep Fit Club at Komfueku on Saturday.

He said though the school had served the community over the years, adding that by providing it with modern facilities and needed infrastructure many more children could have the opportunity to obtain basic education.

Mr Percy Ahenakwah, President of the Club, said HIV/AIDS education and other social activities would be the major concern of the Club next year.

He urged the youth to lead self-controlled lives and avoid drunkenness and other anti-social behaviour. 21 Dec. 03
