CWSA Board of Directors pays a courtesy call on Northern regional mMinister

A seven-member Board of Directors of the Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA) has paid a courtesy call on the Northern regional minister as part of familiarization visit to some projects sites of the Agency in some Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies in the region.

The Five-day familiarization visit will also offer the team the opportunity to share some field experiences of the performance of the Water Systems and Institutional Latrines with the district authorities, chiefs, opinion leaders as well as Water and Sanitation Management Teams in the project areas. The selected towns include Salaga, Kpalbe, Fufulso, Zabzugu and Tatale.

The team would familiarise themselves with some completed and on-going Rural and Small Towns Water projects in some of the communities to be visited.

Addressing the team, the briefing the minister, the Board Chairman of the Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA), Nana Danso Agyei II, Paramount Chief of Nkasem Traditional area in the Brong-Ahafo region commended the Northern Regional Coordinating Council (NRCC) instituting the open league table for the various district assemblies in the region.

He told the minister that work on the Agency's Sustainable Rural Water projects which were where halted due to lack of funding will soon be worked on since they have secured funding for such projects.

He is however hopeful their visit will be useful to the region. Northern regional minister, Abdullah Abubakari in his remarks commended the Community Water Sanitation Agency and its board of directors for their support in delivering their mandate of providing water system for small towns.

He called for a relook of the management board of the community water system to ensure the sustainability and effective management of its projects in the region.
