Mr. Bugre Naabu, addressing a joint meeting of the Northern Regional Council of Elders and Patrons with the Regional Executives over the weekend in Tamale called on Ghanaians, particularly people in the three regions of the north to reject the NDC because they have worsened their plight as poverty-ridden regions more than can be imagined.

The joint meeting of the Council of Elders and Patrons with the Regional Executives was to strategies as part of series of strategic measures to galvanize the support of the masses to win more seats in the northern regions during the upcoming general elections. It was also to take stock of the party's activities and assess the fortunes of the party ahead of the upcoming November polls.

The outspoken Northern regional chairman stated that as a result of the monopoly enjoyed by the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the three regions of the North over the years, the NDC has taken the people for granted and it is high time they taught them a bitter lesson in the upcoming general elections.

He claimed the NDC has never won elections in the country in the true sense of the word adding that thy have always stolen the real verdict of the people through manipulations and schemes with connivance from some officials of the Electoral Commission, indicating that the party will match them boot-for-boot this time round in their quest to have decent and credible elections this year.

Speaking on the unity of the party, Mr. Bugre Naabu commended the Council of Elders and Patrons of the party for their wise counsel when the party was rocked with disunity. He therefore acknowledge that there was absolute unity within the rank and file of the regional executives in the region.

He however indicated that the regional executives will continues to work closely with the Regional Council of Elders and Patrons to achieve the party's cherished goal of winning the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections in November.
