One woman narrowly escaped death when a taxi cab driver, who had a sudden epileptic fit while driving lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a Benz bus in Accra Wednesday February 17, 2016.

The incident happened at about 5:40pm around the City Lights junction at Kokomlemle in Accra.

Class FM’s Nana Ampadu, who witnessed the scene, said the driver of the taxi, with registration number GS 5358-13, was driving from the City Lights junction in the general direction of the Odo Rise restaurant when he suddenly stepped harder on the accelerator, forcing pedestrians to flee in all directions.

The out-of-control vehicle knocked the wares of a ‘kelewele’ seller, who had momentarily left the spot to pick up some items. The careering car finally rammed into a Benz car parked beside the road and came to a stop.

An angry crowd approached the vehicle and found the driver unconscious and foaming at the mouth.

Nana Ampadu said the driver came to consciousness some moments later and confessed to suffering from epilepsy.
