Undeveloped landowners at Konimase to clear them of filth or face prosecution

Anyinabrem (B/A), July 27, GNA - Owners of undeveloped building plots at Konimase area in Techiman District of Brong Ahafo have been given a week's ultimatum to clear their plots of weeds and filth or face prosecution. Mr. Ibrahim Ahmed Abass, Assembly Member, who gave the order during an interaction with the chiefs and people of Anyinabrem, noted that some of the owners had allowed their plots to be overgrown with weeds, giving haven to reptiles including snakes and other dangerous creatures. Alternatively, he said Unit Committee members would clear such plots for a fee of 100,000 cedis.

Mr. Abass also cautioned owners of bicycles without lights to desist from riding them at night warning that offenders would be arrested and put before court.

He also urged parents to discourage their children from engaging in gambling, noting that the practice was becoming rampant in the area. Mr. Yaw Gyarko, Chairman of the Unit Committee pledged the co-operation of the committee members for the success of the exercises.
