WR Traditional Council registrars upgrade skills

Sekondi, July 17, GNA - A two-day workshop to upgrade the skills of registrars of the 22 traditional councils in the Western Region opened at Sekondi on Wednesday, with a call on them to play leading roles in minimising land and chieftaincy disputes.

Mr J. E. Jainie, Director of the Chieftaincy Secretariat, reminded them that peace, a prerequisite for development, should be maintained all the times.

He appealed to the participants and other officers of the secretariat to work hard to educate themselves in order to become abreast with current trends in their field.

Awulae Attibraukusu III, Omanhene of Lower Axim Traditional Area, said such training programmes help to improve the work of the officers to the benefit of the chieftaincy.

Mr Henry Osei-Wusu, Registrar of the Regional House of Chiefs, told the participants that quarterly grants allocated their offices are for administrative expenditure and not for their personal use.
