EPP donates to Liberian Embassy

EPP Books Services on Thursday donated 2013 edition of Essenco question and answers books worth GH? 20, 000.00 to the Liberian Embassy in Accra.

In addition to the books, EPP Books Services also presented a cheque for GH? 10,000.00 to the officials of the Embassy to help improve upon the educational standards in the country.

Mrs Milicent Brookman-Amissah, General Manger, EPP Books Services, who made the presentation, said it was part of their corporate social responsibility to respond to the needs of the less privileged in society.

She said the donation, which was an initiative of EPP books Services, aimed at helping students to pass their Basic Education Certificate Examination successfully, especially as Liberia also uses the same BECE system as Ghana.

“Following all that is happening in the country, and being very passionate about education, we thought of doing this to help promote education and to boost students morale of passing their exams,” she said.

Mrs Brookman-Amissah noted that the books covered all subjects students were being taught at the Junior High School level.

Mrs Musu J. Ruhle, Charge d’Affairs and Head of Mission, Embassy of Liberia, receiving the items, thanked EPP Books Services for their support, saying the books would have a positive impact on the students’ academic work.

She said the Ministry of Gender and Social Protection of Liberia would utilize the books effectively for children, who had been affected by the Ebola Virus Diseases by way of losing their parents and guardians, to have a better educational success.

“Not only will they be the beneficiaries but every child in Liberia will have the privilege of using these books because children have been greatly affected generally,” she said.
