Accident claims 4 lives in Asesewa

Four persons have been confirmed dead in an accident at Asesewa in the Eastern Region.

The accident is said to have occurred on Wednesday involving a tipper truck and a taxi, which was mangled beyond recognition.

Confirming the accident on TV3’s Midday Live on Thursday, September 4, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Christopher Quarcoe, who is the District Police Commander, said the four died on the spot.

One is a Muslim and the family members are demanding the body for immediate burial, DSP Quarcoe revealed to TV3’s Bridget Otoo.

The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Koforidua General Hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy.
