Minister calls for efforts to enhance development

Mr Bede Ziedeng, outgoing Upper West Regional Minister on Thursday urged heads of government departments and agencies to support the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) to propel the development of the region.

He stressed that the RCC needs a bigger effort and cooperation from all heads of departments and agencies to help enhance the development agenda of the region.

Mr Ziedeng gave the advice when he introduced Dr Mohammed Musheibu Alfa, the newly posted Deputy Regional Minister to the heads.

He asked the heads to find time to discuss impending issues with the RCC and not to wait for them to manifest into problems before they try to find solutions to them.

Dr Alfa said he would be working with the heads individually and collectively for the common good of the region, adding: “The common goal of the region is development and we have to double the pace for its enhancement.”

He promised to run an open administration and called for support from the heads for the smooth implementation of peace and development projects in the region.

The heads pledged their unflinching support for the achievement of the development objectives of the region.
