NADMO training for institutions ends

An Exercise Planning and Evaluation training organized by the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has ended in Accra.

The two-week training simulated real-life disaster situations and how to overcome it through practical solutions.

Some of the institutions that took part in the training programme include the Fire Service, Military, Police, NADMO Personnel, the National Ambulance Service and the Information Service Department.

Mr. Ebenezer Dosoo, Deputy National Coordinator, in-Charge of Technical Issues, speaking at the closing ceremony said the training was to prepare the various actors in disaster management, in the country, to come out with plans to solve true disaster situations.

The training and evaluation programme was facilitated by disaster experts drawn from the United States Army.

Mr. Dosoo said the training has been designed in such a way that actors in the disaster management should be able to do their work without any difficulties.

He said the exercise has been structured to help bring all the actors on board to act in unison when there is a real disaster.

He said during disaster situations certain things happens, so if the various actors such as NADMO, the Police and Military are exposed to such scenarios, they would be able to devise their own strategies to save disaster victims.
