‘NAB must stop unaccredited institutions from operating’

The National Accreditation Board (NAB) has been urged to act firmly and close down any tertiary institutions it had not sanctioned to operate.

The Chief Executive Officer of WAMB Educational Consult and Foundation, Michael Asare, said this was necessary to bring sanity and give protection to students.

According to him, fake schools must not be allowed to have their way – deceive, dupe and cheat people anxious to pursue higher education.

He was addressing final year students of the Adanwomase Senior High School (SHS) in the Kwabre East District as part of a sensitization programme launched by the Foundation to assist students to make the right career choices.

He told them to do a thorough check on all private tertiary educational institutions before buying admission forms.

The Programmes Director of the Foundation, Williams Boakye-Baafi, told the students to resist the temptation to cheat in West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

“That is not the way to go. You should rather work hard on your books,” he said.
