Benkumhene of Dominase-Ankaase abdicates

Nana Fredua Agyemang Pambuo I, Benkumhene of Dominase-Ankaase in the Kwabre District of the Ashanti Region, has abdicated.

The chief, enstooled on April 8, 2004, cited personal reasons for his abdication.

In line with tradition, the Benkumhene on Friday performed the necessary rites at the Dominase-Ankaase palace in Kumasi, in the presence of Baffour Yaw Boateng, Otumfuo’s Dominasehene.

The Head of his family (Abusuapanyin), uncles, family members, and other traditional authorities and sub-chiefs also witnessed the event.

Nana Pambuo, during his reign, played an instrumental role in setting up the Ankaase Development and Education Fund, construction of the Ankaase Water Project, amongst other activities.

He thanked the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei II, for his immeasurable kindness bestowed on him in the course of his reign.

He also lauded all the sub-chiefs who in diverse ways contributed to his successful reign.

In an interview with the Ghana news agency (GNA), he promised to continue to contribute positively and meaningfully to the socio-economic growth of the town.
