The Chiefs and people of Krachi West in the Volta Region are full of praises of the District Chief Executive (DCE), Moses Ponye and the ruling NDC for given the District the necessary developmental attentions.
According to the chiefs, the NDC government has given the District unprecedented developmental projects ever over the last three and half years.
This came to light when The Al-Hajj visited the chiefs’ palace to found out their relationship with the DCE following claims in a publication by the Free Press with the captioned “Aluta soon in Krachi West”.
The Free Press publication of 29th June, 2012 indicated that the some individuals sympathetic to the NDC are being treated like opponent and accused the DCE as one who was behind it.
The paper also indicted the DCE of meddling in chieftaincy affairs and fueling division in the zongos especially with the Konkombas.
The chiefs rubbished the publication and said “the best DCE we ever had since the creation of the District is Ponye Moses, the current DCE”.
The chiefs said they are very happy and thanked President Mills and NDC for bringing Ponye Moses adding that “he respects us, he is our son and he always pay attention to our needs and concerns”.
Meanwhile some elements within the constituency executives namely propaganda secretary, Mr. Ofoe Agbenyega, Mr. Isaac Nnemele, constituency secretary, Mr. Perry Ofosu, one of the parliamentary candidate contesting the NDC primary and JJ Ntoso are alleged to be seriously working against the fortunes of the party.
The above mentioned names who have resorted to peddling lies against the DCE in the media were once members of the Friends of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings (FONKA).
According to the constituency party chairman Mr. Eko S. Daniel there were number of complaints against these individuals and committee will soon be put in place to investigate them before any action can be taken.
He alleged also that they have connived with press houses in Accra to publish lies about the DCE and the party executives to tarnish the image of the party.
