BA minister calls for calm on radio

The Brong-Ahafo regional minister, Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo, has called on Ghanaians to avoid creating unnecessary tensions through their utterances when contributing to radio programmes. Mr. Nyamekye Marfo made the call at a dinner and awards ceremony at which he was honoured for his sterling leadership qualities and immense contributions to the development of the Brong-Ahafo region. The awards ceremony was organised by the Nkwabeng Youth Unity Club in sunyani.

The regional minister also called for proper environmental sanitation management on the part of individuals. He noted that it is the collective responsibility of the people to ensure good sanitation and kicked against individuals who create filth and expect Zoomlion to clear them.

Mr. Nyamekye Marfo appealed to the people to avoid indiscriminate bush burning and put in place adequate safety measures at home during the dry season. He also urged the Nkwabeng Youth club to embark on massive education on the need for everybody who has attained 18 years to register to enable them vote in the 2012 general elections.

Two other personalities, Lawyer Asomah Cheremeh of Henewaa Chambers and Williewise Kyeremeh, Proprietor of Wise Educational Complex, both in Sunyani, also received awards.

Lawyer Asomah Cheremeh, who is the Brong-Ahafo regional NPP chairman, was honoured for his contribution to the development of the Nkwabeng community. He is also on record to have readily come to the assistance of many residents of the area whose cases came to his chambers.

Lawyer Williewise Kyeremeh on the other hand was honoured for his exemplary leadership qualities which has motivated the youth of Nkwabeng to strive to achieve greater heights in life.

The president of the Nkwabeng Youth club, Mr. Abedi Apenteng, said the club’s own research indicates that Mr. Nyamekye Marfo deserved the Best Regional Minister award recently given him by the African Watch news magazine.
