B/A journalists up against Larry Paa kwasi Moses

Over 95% of journalists in the Brong-Ahafo have unanimously shown the red card to TV
Africa’s uncouth regional correspondent, Moses Paa Kwasi Laary, whose
unprofessional, silly behaviour for the past two years, has brought total shame to
the profession and embarrasment to a number of fine journalists in the region.
With the exception of Ian Mortey of the Times, David – cameran of of GBC, Emmanuel
Ablordey of GBC and Charles Coomson of GNA, every journalist in the Brong-Ahafo
region, has been subjected to humiliation by Paa Kwai Moses at one time or the
other.
It is agianst this backdrop that majority of the disgruntled journalists in the
region have issued a statement calling for the immediate resignation of Paa Kwasi
Moses as secretary/ chairman of the B/A GJA as well as account for all monies he has
collected on behalf of his colleagues and subsequently misappropriated.
The statement signed by most of the journalists who have been humiliated in several
ways by Paa Kwasi Moses with solid backing from Ian Mortey, the former chairman of
the regional GJA, is further calling on the GJA to investigate the conduct of Paa
Kwasi Moses with particular reference to an amount of 13 millioin cedis he
collected on behalf of the media during the vice president’s recent visit to the
Brong-Ahafo region .
Paa Kwasi kept all the 13 million cedis and told his colleagues that the press from
Accra who accompanied the vice president, took away the said money.
Later it emerged after checks from the regional coordinating council that he had
indeed pocketed the money meant for the B/A press.
In 2009, this same Paa Kwasi, who has a criminal record, stole an envelop meant for
the regional Editor of the Dispatch news paper, Mr Kwame Amoako Atta after a hectic
assignment. When his bag was searched, the envelop containing the money was found.
Again, Paa Kwasi Moses and Ian Mortey, took away the entire per diem given to news
men who covered the NDC national delegates congress at the Sunynai Polytechnic in
2010.
Later a fierce confrontation ensued between Paa Kwasi Moses and some journalists who
raised objection to his dirty behaviour.
Paa Kwasi Moses has since 2009 been deciding which reporter or media house attends
national assignments in the region.
The situation is so serious that all the affected journalists are in process of
forming a counter association of journalists since the GJA is now for Ian Mortey,
David, Ablordey and Coomson.
From 2009 to May, 2011, Laary Paa Kwasi Moses and his assistants, have pocketed
more than 100 million cedis belonging to his colleagues.
