The Bible Society of Ghana has inducted Dr Mrs Irene Stella Agyenim-Boateng as its new Vice President, with a call on Christians to uphold biblical values, demonstrate integrity and actively support the promotion and dissemination of God's Word.
The induction ceremony was held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church, Tema Community 12. It brought together church leaders, members of the Bible Society, distinguished personalities and other invited guests.
Delivering the sermon, Ps. Col. Peter N.K. Duodu (Rtd.) reminded Christians that their leadership, character and conduct must reflect the biblical truths they profess.
He stressed that those who preach and proclaim the Word of God must also demonstrate its teachings through their daily lives, emphasising the importance of integrity and consistency between faith and practice.
The induction was conducted by the immediate past President of the Bible Society of Ghana and former Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah, together with the incoming Council Chairman, Elder Professor Ernest Tweneboah Koduah, and other Council members.
New Vice President Highlights the Central Role of the Bible
In her acceptance speech, Dr. Agyenim-Boateng underscored the indispensable role of the Bible in Christian evangelism, noting that every proclamation of the message of salvation must be rooted in Scripture.
She described the Bible as the foundation of the Christian faith and the essential reference point for communicating God's message of salvation to the world.
Emphasising that the Bible Society of Ghana belongs to all Christians, regardless of denomination, she called for a collective sense of ownership and responsibility towards the organisation's mission.
To inspire greater participation and commitment, she introduced what she described as the Society's Six Ps: Prayer, Purpose, Plan, Part, Persevere and Promote.
She urged Christians to pray for the Society, understand and embrace its purpose, make deliberate plans to support its activities, play their individual roles, persevere in the mission and actively promote its work.
Her appeal highlighted the need for churches, Christian organisations and individuals to unite in supporting Bible translation, publication, distribution and the wider promotion of Scripture.
