Mfantsipim School has celebrated its 150th anniversary with an Awards and Fundraising Dinner held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, bringing together distinguished alumni, invited guests, institutional partners, corporate leaders and members of the school community.

The event honoured individuals whose achievements and contributions reflect the values and traditions of the historic institution, while raising funds to support its future development.

The elegant evening also highlighted the school’s rich heritage and its contributions to Ghana’s educational and national development over the past 150 years.

A major highlight of the occasion was the recognition of outstanding individuals and contributors whose achievements embody the Mfantsipim spirit.

Among the award recipients was Alex Apau Dadey, Executive Chairman of KGL Group, who received two honours: the Partner of Impact Award and a special category award in recognition of his contributions to the school.

His support for the school’s initiatives was recognised as an example of the leadership and service the awards seek to celebrate.

Other award recipients included:

Outstanding Teaching Staff: Solomon Kweku Afful

Outstanding Non-Teaching Staff: Constance Odur

Education Impact Award: Kwame Dapaah-Afriyie, MD

Distinguished Alumnus – Academia and Research: Prof. Albert Kwadwo Adu Boahen

Beyond the awards, the dinner served as a fundraising initiative to support the school’s 150th-anniversary ambitions and long-term development priorities.

The live auction featured a selection of artworks, an exclusive release of 10 custom anniversary Caveman watches and a Collector’s Edition 150th Anniversary Anthology. Proceeds were intended to support the school’s legacy and infrastructure projects.

The evening also featured performances by Ghanaian artistes Sefa and Efya.

KGL Group and Margins Group were recognised as the main sponsors of the event. Notable guests included the Deputy Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dr Justice Srem-Sai, and the Okuapemhene, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III.

As Mfantsipim marks 150 years of educational excellence, the Awards and Fundraising Dinner served as a reminder of the shared responsibility of preserving the school’s legacy.

The celebration not only honoured the institution’s past and the achievements of its alumni but also renewed the call to support its continued growth and development.
