The Member of Parliament for Salaga South,Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, has urged delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to elect executives who will protect the party’s legacy, promote unity, and work towards its continued progress.

She made the appeal ahead of the party’s upcoming executive elections, stressing the need for leaders who will put the interests of the party above their personal ambitions.

Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah emphasised that unity and togetherness were essential to the NDC’s strength. She cautioned delegates against electing individuals whose personal interests could undermine the party’s collective goals.

She said some people seeking executive positions were more interested in personal gains than in the overall progress of the party.

“They are only interested in what they will gain personally, but not the progress of the party,” she stated.

The Salaga South MP urged delegates to look beyond personal appeals and choose candidates who have demonstrated commitment to the party and are prepared to contribute to its development.

She reminded delegates that the NDC, as the governing party, has a responsibility to remain united and focused on fulfilling its promises to Ghanaians.

According to her, the party needs dedicated and selfless executives who understand the demands of leadership and are willing to work hard to sustain its achievements and strengthen its structures.

Zuwera stressed that leadership positions should not be viewed as opportunities for personal gain but as responsibilities that require commitment, sacrifice, and service to the party.

She noted that the decisions delegates make in the elections would be crucial to the party’s unity, organisational strength, and ability to deliver on its mandate.

The MP’s appeal comes as the NDC prepares to elect executives who will help steer the party’s affairs and strengthen its grassroots structures.

She urged delegates to make wise choices by electing leaders who will promote peace, discourage internal divisions, and work together in the collective interest of the party.

Hajia Zuwera maintained that the future of the NDC depends largely on the commitment of its members and the ability of its leaders to uphold the values and legacy established by previous generations.
