The President and Founder of Afro-Arab Group of Companies, Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu, has offered to support President John Dramani Mahama’s housing agenda as part of efforts to deliver 200,000 affordable homes across Ghana.
The commitment was made during the recently held National Homeownership Conference when President Mahama visited the Afro-Arab Properties exhibition booth.
During the visit, Ambassador Salamu Amadu expressed his readiness to work with the government to accelerate the provision of affordable housing and help address Ghana’s housing deficit.

He said Afro-Arab Properties was prepared to contribute to the President’s vision of expanding access to decent and affordable homes, particularly for low- and middle-income earners who struggle to purchase houses under conventional payment arrangements.
Ambassador Salamu Amadu’s pledge reflects the company’s commitment to making homeownership accessible to more Ghanaians through flexible payment plans and affordable housing initiatives.
Afro-Arab Properties has introduced housing projects designed to allow prospective homeowners to pay gradually over an agreed period, with interest-free payment arrangements forming part of its approach to making homeownership more accessible.
The company believes that partnerships between the government and private real estate developers will be important in addressing the country’s housing challenges and increasing the supply of affordable homes.
President Mahama has repeatedly highlighted the need to tackle Ghana’s housing deficit, improve access to decent accommodation and create opportunities for private sector participation in the housing industry.
Ambassador Salamu Amadu’s offer is therefore expected to strengthen discussions on how private developers can support the government’s housing objectives while providing practical solutions for ordinary Ghanaians.
By offering to support the President’s housing vision, the Afro-Arab Group founder hopes to contribute to an initiative that could expand homeownership opportunities, create jobs and support growth in the construction and real estate sectors.
The proposed 200,000-home vision represents an ambitious target that will require effective collaboration, financing and sustained investment to translate into completed homes for Ghanaians.
Afro-Arab Properties says its approach is centred on the belief that homeownership should not be reserved for the wealthy but should be within reach of hardworking individuals and families.
Ambassador Salamu Amadu’s pledge to help President Mahama become known as “John the Builder” underscores his willingness to contribute to the delivery of affordable housing and support efforts to improve living conditions across the country.
