Five Constituency Youth Organisers of the NDC in the Western Region have paid a courtesy call on their Patron, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, MP for Ellembelle and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, as part of efforts to strengthen unity and deepen collaboration within the party.

Led by the Youth Organiser for the Ellembelle Constituency, MacDonald Kwofie, the youth leaders reaffirmed their commitment to peace, unity and the strengthening of the party’s youth wing in the Western Region.

The visit, which formed part of efforts to deepen engagement among party stakeholders, provided an opportunity for the youth organisers and the MP to exchange views on the future of the NDC and the need for a united and vibrant youth wing capable of sustaining the party’s grassroots strength.

The youth organisers from Sekondi, Takoradi, Essikado-Ketan, Jomoro and Ellembelle stressed that peace and stability must remain central to the activities of the party, noting that a peaceful political environment is essential for effective mobilisation and development.

They also underscored the importance of unity within the NDC and called for greater collaboration among party executives, elected representatives, youth organisers and grassroots members.

According to them, the strength of the NDC largely depends on its ability to bring members together, build trust and work collectively towards common goals.

The organisers further expressed their determination to contribute to the development of a vibrant and active youth wing capable of engaging young people, promoting the values of the party and encouraging greater participation in political and community activities.

They noted that young people constitute a significant part of the party’s support base and must therefore be given the necessary space, leadership opportunities and platforms to contribute meaningfully to the NDC’s growth.

MacDonald Kwofie and his team appealed to the Minister to consider Branch Youth Organisers for recruitment into the various cooperative mines that the government is expected to roll out. They also called for youth inclusion in the job opportunities being created under the government’s reclamation programme.

Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah welcomed the youth organisers and commended them for their initiative, stressing the need for continuous engagement between elected representatives and the youth structures of the party.

The Minister, who is also the Patron of the youth wing in the Western Region, encouraged them, as the frontline of the NDC, to remain disciplined, committed and united while placing the collective interest of the party above individual differences.

He also emphasised the importance of maintaining peaceful and respectful political engagement, particularly at the grassroots level, as the party works to consolidate its support base and strengthen its structures in the coastal region.

The engagement ended with a shared commitment to intensify grassroots mobilisation, promote unity and support initiatives aimed at making the Western Region a stronghold of the NDC.

The five youth organisers — Ernest Anaman of Jomoro, Afriyie-Tsibu Kwabena of Takoradi, Emmanuel Kweku Mensah of Sekondi, Alidu Adama of Essikado-Ketan and MacDonald Kwofie of Ellembelle — expressed their readiness to work with party leaders and members across the region to build a stronger, more cohesive and vibrant youth movement capable of advancing the NDC’s interests while contributing to peace and development in the region.
