Contractors have moved to site to begin construction of a 120-bed Specialised Trauma and Emergency Hospital at Bole in the Savannah Region.

Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, announced this in a post shared on Facebook on Thursday, October 1, 2026.

“Contractors have moved to site to begin construction of this 120-bed Specialised Trauma and Emergency Hospital at Bole in the Savannah Region,” he stated.

The 16,000-square-metre facility will be equipped with a 24-hour Accident and Emergency Unit, trauma resuscitation bays, emergency operating theatres, an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and a High Dependency Unit (HDU).

It will also include specialised trauma wards, a burns treatment unit, orthopaedic and surgical units, as well as, imaging and diagnostic facilities.

The project is expected to strengthen healthcare delivery in the region by expanding access to referral and specialised medical services for residents, particularly those requiring emergency and trauma care.

The hospital will serve as a regional referral centre, helping to improve access to specialised healthcare and reduce the need for residents to travel outside the region to seek treatment.

The development forms part of the government’s broader efforts to expand healthcare infrastructure and improve the delivery of specialised medical services across the country.
