New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate aspirant for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Samuel Owusu Amankwaa, has pledged GH¢13,000 every month to support party activities across the constituency’s 13 Electoral Areas.

Under the arrangement, each Electoral Area will receive GH¢1,000 monthly to support grassroots activities, welfare needs and other party programmes.

Amankwaa made the commitment as he presented the GH¢13,000 allocation for September 2026 to the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.

A letter issued by the constituency secretary, David K.S.M. Anorlejameh, on behalf of the Constituency Chairman and the wider constituency, confirmed receipt of the September allocation.

The letter said GH¢1,000 had been disbursed to each of the 13 Electoral Areas and expressed appreciation for Amankwaa’s support for party activities in the constituency.

Speaking during the presentation, Amankwaa said the initiative was intended to provide regular support to the party’s structures rather than wait for major political activities before resources became available.

“The strength of every political party is its grassroots. If we want our Electoral Areas to function effectively, we must support the people who keep the party alive at that level. This is why I have decided to make this commitment every month.”

He said the GH¢1,000 allocation to each Electoral Area was intended to help ease some of the financial pressures associated with organising meetings, mobilising members and addressing basic welfare needs.

“I do not want our people to struggle to organise basic party activities because of a lack of resources. This is a modest contribution, but it is regular, predictable and directly targeted at the grassroots.”

Amankwaa also urged the Electoral Area executives to use the funds responsibly and ensure that they were applied for their intended purposes.

“This money is for the party and for the people who work at the grassroots. I expect it to be used transparently and for the purposes for which it is intended. My commitment is to support the structures, but accountability must accompany support.”

The constituency’s appreciation letter said the September payment brought the total amount received under the monthly pledge to GH¢13,000, with GH¢1,000 allocated to each Electoral Area.

It said the support would help strengthen party activities in the constituency as the NPP prepares for the 2028 general election.

Amankwaa said he would continue to engage with party structures and respond to practical needs within the constituency.

“Politics cannot only be about elections. It must also be about building structures, supporting people and being present when the party needs you. That is the approach I intend to maintain.”
