The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa North in the Eastern Region, Kwame Appiah Kodua, has donated essential school materials to 150 students who passed the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and gained admission to Senior High Schools (SHS).

The beneficiaries received a package of items to support them as they begin their secondary education. The donations included plastic trunks (chop boxes), mattresses, exercise books and school bags.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Kwame Appiah Kodua congratulated the students on their academic success and urged them to take their studies seriously as they transition to the secondary level.

He said education was key to the future development of the constituency and encouraged the students to strive for academic excellence.

The MP further pledged to extend his support to the tertiary level for students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance throughout their Senior High School education.

“Take your education seriously and make sure you perform very well at SHS so that I can still support you to the university,” Kwame Appiah Kodua advised the beneficiaries.

William Nana Addo, speaking on behalf of the students, expressed gratitude to the MP for the support. He said the gesture had brought relief to the students and their families, many of whom faced financial difficulties in acquiring the items required for SHS.

The initiative has received commendation from parents, teachers and community members in Fanteakwa North, who said the support would help ease some of the financial burden associated with students’ transition to SHS.
