About seven people, including a police officer, have sustained injuries in an alleged ongoing gun battle between residents of Gomoa Oguaakrom and New Winneba over a land dispute.

According to a video post by Channel One TV online on September 1, 2026, the clashes reportedly erupted when some residents of Gomoa Oguaakrom entered New Winneba and fired shots while attempting to lock shops.

The confrontation quickly escalated, leaving several individuals wounded.

Police presence in the area has since been reinforced as frightened residents flee for safety.

"JUST IN: About seven people, including a police officer, have been injured in an ongoing gun battle between residents of Gomoa Oguaakrom and New Winneba over a land dispute.

"...The clashes reportedly began after some residents of Gomoa Oguaakrom entered New Winneba and fired shots while attempting to lock shops. Police presence has since been increased as several residents flee the area," the post read.
