The political landscape within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta Region is heating up as a stalwart of the party’s youth wing, Junior Asiemoah Kwame, has announced his decision to contest the Volta Regional Youth Organiser position.

Following consultations with party stakeholders, elders and grassroots structures, the two-term Deputy Regional Youth Organiser has officially declared his bid for the position.

His campaign is anchored on the slogan, “Eight Years of Service. Ready to Lead.”

Drawing on nearly a decade of active mobilisation within the party, Junior Asiemoah’s campaign highlights his support for constituency youth wings and tertiary campus structures.

According to his campaign, his contributions have included facilitating logistics such as laptops for youth wings and mobilising motorbikes ahead of the 2024 general elections.

Positioning himself as a candidate with a record of service, he said his decision to contest was aimed at moving from supporting regional leadership to taking up the responsibility of leading the youth wing.

His key priorities include strengthening grassroots structures, promoting youth empowerment and fostering unity among constituencies and tertiary institutions across the region.

In a statement made available to the media, Junior Asiemoah said his experience in supporting youth structures had prepared him for the regional role.

“Over the years, I have served, mobilised and supported our youth structures—from providing laptops to constituency youth wings and campuses to mobilising motorbikes for our 2024 campaign and creating opportunities for our young people,” he said.

He said his campaign would be based on his record and experience rather than promises.

“I am not coming with promises alone. I am coming with experience, a record of service and a vision for a stronger, united and empowered youth wing,” he added.

His declaration marks the beginning of what is expected to be a competitive contest for the leadership of the NDC youth wing in the Volta Region as the party prepares for its internal elections.
