The Member of Parliament for Effiduase Asokore, Dr Nana Ayew Afriye, has been officially conferred with the honour of Patron of the Ashanti Regional Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The ceremony was held at his residence in Kumasi and brought together youth organisers from across the region, who gathered to formally confer the honour amid singing and chants in praise of the legislator.

The delegation was led by the Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser, Martin Ameyaw, who conferred the honour on behalf of the Youth Wing.

Ameyaw commended Dr Afriye for what he described as his significant investment of time and resources in supporting the aspirations of young people within the party.

He said Dr Afriye’s consistent support for youth programmes and initiatives had made him a natural choice for the patronage role, describing the honour as recognition of his years of support for the Youth Wing.

“You’re our father and the figurehead of the youth of the party in the Ashanti Region,” he said.

Receiving the honour, Dr Afriye, who also serves as Liaison Coordinator for NPP presidential candidate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, expressed gratitude to the youth organisers and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the growth and development of the Youth Wing across the region.

Dr Afriye is regarded within NPP youth circles as a source of inspiration, particularly for his involvement in grassroots political mobilisation.

As part of his continued support for the Youth Wing, Dr Afriye donated GH¢100,000 as seed money towards the Ashanti Regional Youth Welfare initiative.

He also urged the youth organisers to remain united and work towards securing victory for the party in the December 2028 elections.

The conferment ceremony highlights the recognition of Dr Afriye’s role in supporting youth participation within the NPP in the Ashanti Region as the party strengthens its structures ahead of future elections.
