Ernest Chemists commiserates with Dagbon over Ya Na Abubakari II's death

Ernest Chemists Ltd (ECL) has joined the chiefs and people of Dagbon in mourning the late Ya Na Abubakari II and supporting the traditional transition following his passing.

The company visited the Gbewaa Palace on Friday, July 31, 2026, to mourn with the Dagbon Kingdom and witness the installation of the new Regent, Kampakuya Naa Yakubu II.

The ECL delegation, led by Marketing and Corporate Communications Manager, Clement Atagra, observed the solemn traditional process, which marks an important transitional stage ahead of the selection of the next Ya Na.

On behalf of the CEO, Board of Directors and Management, ECL presented a cheque for GH¢50,000 and products valued at GH¢20,000 to the palace.

Presenting the items, Atagra expressed the company’s condolences to the people of Dagbon over the death of the late Ya Na, describing the loss as a national tragedy.

He said ECL, as a responsible corporate citizen that values Ghanaian culture and tradition, considered it a duty to support the Dagbon Kingdom during the period of mourning and transition.

The ECL team was warmly received by the palace, which presented the symbolic cola as a gesture of appreciation for the company’s support.

On behalf of the Regent, the palace commended Ernest Chemists for demonstrating respect for the Dagbon Kingdom and supporting the traditional process.
