The Member of Parliament for Nanton Constituency, Dr Mohammed Sherif Abdul-Khaliq, has donated relief items to constituents from Nanton who were affected by the recent floods in parts of Accra.

The items donated included 100 student mattresses, 50 bags of rice and 17 boxes of cooking oil, with each box containing 12 bottles. The support was aimed at providing immediate relief to affected families and helping them cope with the challenges arising from the floods.

Speaking during the presentation, Dr Khaliq said the gesture formed part of his commitment to supporting constituents during difficult times, regardless of where they reside.

He said the donation was intended to ease the hardship faced by the affected residents as they recover from the impact of the floods, adding that the wellbeing of constituents remains a priority.

The MP expressed appreciation to the beneficiaries for their resilience and thanked constituents for the confidence and support they showed him during the 2024 general elections.

He further encouraged affected residents to remain hopeful as they rebuild their lives following the devastating effects of the floods.

Dr Khaliq also called for continued support for flood victims and urged individuals, organisations and stakeholders to extend assistance to communities affected by natural disasters.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the gesture, describing the MP as a compassionate and responsive representative who continues to demonstrate concern for their welfare.

They said the support would go a long way in addressing some of the immediate needs of households affected by the floods.
