Two killed, several injured in Fodoa-Nadeso crash

Two people have died while several others sustained injuries following a serious road accident on the Fodoa-Nadeso stretch of the Kumasi Highway in the Kwahu South District of the Eastern Region.

According to a report by adomonline.com on July 17, 2026, the accident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, July 16, 2026, when a cargo vehicle collided with a long truck loaded with bottled water.

The Nkawkaw Municipal Fire Commander, Divisional Officer Grade Two (DO II), Samuel Mante, said the cargo vehicle, with registration number WR 644-N, reportedly developed a mechanical fault, leading to the collision.

"I urge drivers to strictly observe road safety measures, especially during vehicle breakdowns," DO II Samuel Mante said, stressing the importance of taking precautionary measures to prevent similar tragedies.

The impact of the crash claimed the lives of two occupants at the scene, while several other victims sustained varying degrees of injuries.

The injured were rushed to the Holy Family Hospital in Nkawkaw for emergency treatment.

Emergency personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service, supported by other security agencies, responded promptly to rescue trapped victims and clear the road to restore traffic flow.

DO II Samuel Mante further advised motorists to immediately place warning triangles at appropriate distances whenever their vehicles develop faults on highways to alert approaching drivers and reduce the risk of secondary collisions.

The Police have commenced investigations to determine the exact cause of the crash.
