Ablekuma Central MP donates to schools in his Constituency

Accra, Feb. 24, GNA - Mr Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, Member of Parliame= nt (MP) for Ablekuma Central, has donated GH¢5,000 to two schools in his constituency as part of a programme to improve on educational infrastructure. Da-Awatul Islamic Primary School at Sabon Zongo received GH¢2,000 wh= ile Larterbiokorshie Presbyterian Vocational Training Institute obtained GH¢3,000. Mr Chaie made this known when he joined Muslims at Sabon Zongo in Accr= a to celebrate 93Tania", a spiritual exercise to shower praises on Allah f= or the birth of Prophet Mohammed. He observed that although basic education was free and compulsory, man= y parents and guardians found it difficult to provide the needs of their children hence the need for the government to distribute free school uniforms, exercise books and the introduction of the Capitation Grant. The MP said government acknowledged the role of Muslims in the nation= 's development efforts and urged them to take their children's education seriously to enable them acquire the skills to grow up to become useful citizens. He admonished them to shun politicians who would instigate them for political violence.
