The Member of Parliament for Ellembelle Constituency and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has cut the sod for the construction of a modern community library at Aiyinasi in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region.

The project, solely funded by Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah at a cost of GHS 2 million, is aimed at improving access to reading materials and digital learning resources for students, pupils, and the general public.

Speaking at the ceremony, Armah-Kofi Buah said the library will serve as a knowledge hub to support education and research. He added that the facility will operate 24 hours a day when completed and will be fully equipped with learning materials to allow students to study at any time.

“This library will give our children and youth a conducive space to study, learn digital skills, and prepare for the future. Education remains the surest way to transform Ellembelle,” he said.

He charged the contractor to work according to schedule and urged community members to support the contractor in completing the project on time.

He also revealed that the NDC government was constructing the Aiyinasi North–Amenfi West road under the Big Push Road Agenda to make the area more accessible for farmers to transport their produce to the Aiyinasi market.

Armah-Kofi Buah further announced that the government will open a centre at Aiyinasi to train 50 youth in ICT under the government’s Coders Programme, equipping them with digital skills for jobs and entrepreneurship.

The Ellembelle DCE, Joseph Agyekum, and traditional leaders from Aiyinasi commended the MP for the personal investment, saying the facility will help reduce the burden on students who currently travel long distances to access libraries.

They pledged community support and appealed for additional educational projects to be sited in the area.

Some residents who spoke to Daniel Kaku after the sod-cutting ceremony commended Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah for the project and pledged to support the contractor in completing it on time.

“We are grateful to Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah; this is unprecedented. We will support the contractor to complete this important project. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah has done a lot for the Aiyinasi community; he made sure his NDC government constructed the principal streets of Aiyinasi. This is the kind of MP we want in Ellembelle Constituency,” they stated.
