Police in Tatale have arrested five people over an attack on students of Calvary International School in the Northern Region.
A report by citinewsroom.com on May 20, indicated that the arrests were made on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, following an incident on May 11 in which armed men allegedly stormed the school campus, assaulted students, and forced the school to shut down.
According to the school’s proprietor, Nwein Moses, the attack is linked to a long-standing dispute over the school’s land, even though a High Court in Tamale had ruled in favour of the institution.
"The attack stemmed from a long-standing dispute over the school’s land, despite a High Court ruling in Tamale in favour of the institution," Moses told Channel One on May 20.
He said some community members rejected the court’s decision and carried out the attack.

The matter was reported to police immediately, but no arrests were made for nearly two weeks.
After the story hit the media, police moved into the community and picked up five suspects in connection with the assault.
Following the arrests, some residents reportedly stormed the police station in an attempt to free the suspects.
Police managed to control the situation and disperse the crowd.
The five suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
