Former National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary aspirant for the Ledzokuku Constituency, Bernard Martei Korley, has redeemed a pledge of GH¢20,000 made to the NDC Women’s Wing of the constituency.

The donation, which was presented at the party office on Monday May 18, 2026, follows a promise BMK made during the Women’s Wing Mother’s Day celebration, where he surprised members with the financial commitment to support their welfare and activities.

Addressing the women after fulfilling the pledge, BMK underscored the important role women continue to play in sustaining and strengthening the party at the grassroots level.

He stressed the need for party faithful and well-placed individuals to contribute meaningfully towards the wellbeing and empowerment of women within the party structure.

According to him, the contribution forms part of his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote unity, welfare, and active participation among women in the constituency.

Members of the Women’s Wing expressed excitement and gratitude over the gesture, describing it as inspiring and timely.

The women offered prayers for BMK, asking for divine protection, wisdom and success in his future endeavours.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Hajia Sherifatu thanked BMK for honouring his promise and praised him for demonstrating leadership through action.

She further appealed for continued support from the philanthropist and party stalwart, humorously invoking the “Oliver Twist” phrase to request even more assistance in the future.

The gesture has been widely welcomed by members of the constituency, with many describing it as a demonstration of commitment, reliability and dedication to the welfare of party supporters.
