The former National Vice Chairperson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Anita Desoso, has strongly criticized the current NDC government and some appointees, accusing them of dishonesty and marginalizing loyal party members while allegedly selling appointments and contracts to NPP affiliates.
Speaking on a popular social-political show 'The Platform' on Angel FM Kumasi, as monitored by this reporter, Madam De Sooso expressed deep disappointment over what she perceives as a betrayal of the NDC's rank-and-file.
The former Vice Chairperson's sentiments were sparked by the recent election of Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings to the vice presidency of the Pan African Parliament. While acknowledging this elevation, Desoso argued that many hardworking and dedicated NDC members, including the Korle Klottey MP, have been sidelined for crucial roles within the current administration.
Apart from sidelines of members for appointments, Anita Desoso alleged that slots for deployment into various sectors are mostly sold to NPP members at the expense of loyal NDC who were supposed to be given these offers for free.
"The neglect has gone to the extent that appointment slots are rather sold or given in controversial circumstances to the opposition NPP people. It is time we woke up and remember what these selfless members of our party have done for us", she lamented.
She suggested that the elevation of Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings serves as a divine sign, echoing the biblical adage that "the stones the builders rejected can be the cornerstone."
In an emotional outburst, Madam De Sooso pointed fingers at individuals she described as NPP people who have infiltrated into the NDC, holding them responsible for the country's ongoing challenges, including the persistent power crisis, popularly known as 'dumsor,' and other national crises.
She urged the NDC leadership to sit up and address these internal issues.
She also appealed to the rank and file of the party to immediately check out for the issues bothering the grassroots and address them before things get bad.
She concluded by urging vigilance among the NDC leadership so that they could sanitize the system vis-a-vis the removal of saboteurs to ensure proper governance.
