The NPP’s 2024 parliamentary candidate aspirant for the Ahafo Ano North Constituency (Tepa) and known philanthropist, Kwaku Fosu Frimpong, has strongly condemned the recent acts of violence that have marred the ongoing polling station elections in the constituency.
The aspirant expressed deep concern over incidents that have resulted in injuries to several party members. “Two individuals were seriously injured on Sunday, May 10, and three more persons were also injured on May 12, 2026. These worrying incidents are totally unacceptable and very concerning,” Mr Frimpong stated.
He extended his well wishes for a speedy recovery to all affected persons currently receiving treatment.
He said the violence is contrary to his personal values and the core principles of the NPP. “This is not my belief, my character, nor the values I stand for. Politics should be about peace, unity, ideas and service to people, not violence, intimidation, fear or lawlessness,” he said.
He stressed that no electoral contest, regardless of its importance, should come at the cost of human suffering. “No election is worth any human being’s blood or pain. We are one people and one political tradition,” he added.
His strong call comes at a time when the party is undergoing reorganisation and preparing for the 2028 general elections. He called for discipline, tolerance and mutual respect among all party faithful.
It could be recalled that some constituencies, particularly within the Ashanti Region, have witnessed a series of violent attacks in the ongoing polling station elections. Ahafo Ano North has been one such constituency. Tensions in the area have escalated, leading to severe injuries to several people.
Kwaku Fosu Frimpong, reacting to this, appealed directly to all NPP members and stakeholders within the constituency to remain calm and refrain from taking the law into their own hands. He emphasised the need to uphold the party’s image and work collaboratively for a stronger future.
Furthermore, Mr Frimpong urged security agencies to exercise professionalism and ensure law and order at all voting centres. “Elections should never make our communities feel unsafe and insecure,” he noted.
He concluded with a call for unity and peace, stating: “Let’s preserve the image of our party and work together in peace and unity for a stronger future.”
