Residents in rural communities within the Kpandai District are facing increasing health risks due to the lack of nearby medical facilities, according to the Chief Executive Officer of Titus Medical Centre, Steve-Lee Demuyakor.
According to a report by adomonline.com on May 13, 2026, victims of snake bites, road accidents, and women in labour are often forced to travel long distances to Kpandai and Salaga in search of medical treatment, placing lives at serious risk.
“The absence of nearby health facilities in these communities is putting lives at serious risk. In emergencies like snake bites, accidents, and labour cases, delays in treatment can be fatal,” Demuyakor stated.
He made the remarks during the opening of Titus Medical Centre in Kumdi, a facility established to serve deprived communities in Kumdi and surrounding areas.

According to Demuyakor, the centre was created to improve access to healthcare for farmers, low-income earners, and vulnerable residents who struggle to obtain quality medical services.
“The facility was established to bring healthcare closer to the people, especially farmers, low-income earners, and vulnerable residents who often struggle to access quality medical services,” he told Adom News.
He further explained that many emergency cases become critical because patients must travel considerable distances before receiving medical attention.
“These cases become very critical because patients have to travel long distances before receiving medical attention, and that delay often worsens their condition,” he added.
Demuyakor also noted that the long distance between Kumdi and Kpandai continues to pose serious challenges for residents seeking urgent healthcare services.
Meanwhile, residents who benefited from the centre’s medical outreach programme expressed gratitude for the intervention and appealed for increased investment in rural healthcare infrastructure within the district.
