Ghanaian dancer Richeal Acheampim has opened up about the emotional toll of her parents’ separation.
The talented performer, who is also a prominent member of the DWP Academy, shared these personal reflections during an interview on Bullet TV.
The discussion delved into Richeal’s family history, specifically the divorce of her parents, which occurred when she was just 12 years old.
Richeal’s mother, who appeared alongside her on the show, while providing context for the split, alleged that the marriage was marred by domestic abuse, explaining that she chose to leave the relationship for her own safety and well-being.
She further claimed that the celebrated dancer’s father exhibited extreme jealousy, often becoming reactive whenever he saw her in the company of other men.
Reflecting on how the broken home influenced her development, Richeal admitted that her mother’s subsequent absence left a void during her formative years.
“My mother was hardly around, so it affected my childhood,” Richeal Achempim admitted.
