A 50-year-old woman, Diana Owusu, widely known as Amoakowaa, has lost her life after being struck by a falling tree at the Adwumam Forest Reserve near Juaboso in the Western North Region.
The incident occurred on Friday, May 1, 2026, during a routine farming activity.
According to eyewitnesses, while the tree-felling exercise was underway, one of the trees unexpectedly fell in her direction, hitting her and causing fatal injuries.

"Reports indicate that she had engaged a chainsaw operator, Akwasi Fuachie, to fell trees on her farm for farming purposes when the incident happened", State News reported the incident on their X page on May 2, 2026.
She was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene before any emergency assistance could be rendered.
Her remains were taken to the Juaboso Government Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
The chainsaw operator has been arrested and is assisting police with their investigations.
