Zakaria Seidu, a two-term NPP 2nd vice chairman of the Asawase constituency and a business mogul, has formally declared his intention to contest for the position of 1st Vice Chairman.

According to him, his years of deep-rooted grassroots experience stand him in good stead for the current position he is vying for, adding that Asawase needs a strategic, competent and experienced person like him.

He has pledged to lead with humility and transparency, and has promised to be a vice chairman for the people.

He emphasised that his office would remain accessible and accountable to every member, regardless of their rank.

"I am committed to serving with dedication and hard work. My focus is on advancing the interests of every member of our dear party," he noted.

Outlining his vision for the leadership role he is currently vying for, Zakaria Seidu presented a vision centred on grassroots empowerment and strategic competitiveness ahead of the 2028 general elections.

He presented four key pillars, which include grassroots empowerment; this, he said, involves actively engaging the base to take a leading role in party activities. His second point is centred on increased participation, which aims at driving higher involvement in elections and official programmes.

Others include strategic competitiveness, which aims at implementing modern strategies to make the NPP the most attractive choice in Asawase for the 2028 polls. His last point is centred on discipline and unity; this is going to be done by promoting unwavering loyalty and togetherness among all members.

Seidu is no stranger to the political terrain of Asawase. His résumé within the party is extensive, having served as a two-term polling station chairman, a two-term electoral area coordinator, and a two-term second vice chairman for the constituency.

Known also as an effective party communicator and a successful entrepreneur, Seidu believes his transition to the 1st Vice Chairmanship is the natural next step in his journey of service to the NPP.

"Asawase remains a crucial constituency where the capability and commitment of leadership determine the future of our great party. While we have made significant gains, I believe that with renewed strength and effective mobilisation, we can achieve even greater success," he revealed in his declaration.

Seidu believes that his vast experience as a former Second Vice Chairman and his background as a businessman give him a unique advantage in understanding both the organisational and logistical needs of the Asawase NPP.

He concluded his declaration with a rallying call: "Together, let us build a strong, united, and win Asawase for the NPP. I respectfully ask for your support and your vote."
