Correspondence from the Eastern Region
The District Chief Executive for Shai Osudoku in the Greater Accra Region, Ignatius Godfred Dordoe, has presented three new pick-up vehicles he procured for the District Assembly to enhance field operations and service delivery.
At a brief ceremony held at the Assembly’s forecourt on Monday, April 27, 2026, the DCE handed over the pick-ups to the District Coordinating Director to be handed over to the transport department. Among the attendees were heads of department and staff of the Assembly.
The assembly chief explained that the vehicles have not yet been allocated to specific departments because insurance processes are still underway. He assured that once the insurance is completed, the pick-ups will be released to departments to support revenue mobilisation, sanitation monitoring, project inspection, and emergency response.
“I procured these pick-ups to improve our work on the ground. They are currently being insured, and immediately after that process, we will hand them over to the departments that need them,” the DCE said.
He stressed that the vehicles are strictly for official duties and cautioned against their use for private errands. He urged heads of departments to ensure proper maintenance and compliance with the Assembly’s transport policy once the vehicles are deployed.
The District Coordinating Director, who received the pick-ups on behalf of the Assembly, thanked the DCE and noted that the vehicles will address mobility challenges once they are assigned.
Dordoe reaffirmed his commitment to resourcing the Assembly to improve efficiency and bring governance closer to the people.
