A nurse at the Kpalgun CHPS Compound in the Tolon District of the Northern Region couldn’t hide her excitement after her facility received one of the newly purchased tricycles to support primary healthcare delivery.

In a video, the nurse is seen smiling with joy as she examines the tricycle, a crucial boost for outreach services in the rural community.

The facility is among several CHPS Compounds that benefit from the government’s latest effort to strengthen primary healthcare in hard-to-reach areas.

According to a post by SikaOfficial on April 27, 2026, the delivery part of efforts to equip frontline health facilities and improve access to care in the Northern Region.

“So, I’m currently sitting inside my primary healthcare Aboboya,” she said excitedly.

In the video, she shows her new “free primary healthcare tricycle,” admiring features such as a fan, fire extinguisher, vaccine cooler, radio, and reverse camera.

The tricycles are expected to help health workers transport patients, deliver medicines, and conduct community outreach more efficiently, especially in areas with poor road networks.

“It has a fire extinguisher. It has a camera, in case we are going back…reverse. It has a pendrive, a cooling fan, etc. As I’m in this vehicle, I’m not sweating. I’m really enjoying this newly equipped tricycle,” she exclaimed.

The tricycle is expected to make things easier for nurses who previously walked long distances or relied on commercial motorbikes to reach patients.

The Tolon District nurse in the video praised the initiative, noting that logistics remain a major challenge for CHPS Compounds serving remote populations.
