Residents of Denkyemuoso in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region have been thrown into shock following the sudden death of a 50-year-old man identified as Erekodo, who reportedly collapsed at a local drinking spot on Easter Monday.

The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. at a popular chop bar located behind a washing bay in the community.

Eyewitnesses said the deceased was among patrons at the spot when he suddenly collapsed without any prior signs of distress.

“It all happened so fast. One moment he was sitting there, and the next moment he just slumped,” an eyewitness recounted.

“We tried to help, but he was unresponsive.”

Residents said efforts were made to revive him, but he was later pronounced dead, leaving many at the scene in disbelief. The cause of death remains unknown, heightening concerns among community members.

Another resident described the incident as disturbing. “This is very painful, especially happening during Easter, a time we are supposed to celebrate life and be with family,” the resident said.

Authorities have since been notified, and police are expected to launch a full investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“We are hoping the investigations will give us answers because this is very worrying,” another concerned resident added.

The body has been conveyed to the morgue for preservation and autopsy to establish the exact cause of death.
