Four people were injured on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, after a Toyota Echo taxi and a Samsung Yamouzine truck collided at Kotokoraba Market.
The Cape Coast Metropolitan Fire Station responded to the crash at 10:28 a.m. and arrived at the scene four minutes later.
The accident occurred on the Kotokoraba bypass slope as both vehicles were descending toward the Mfantsipim–Kotokoraba stretch, in front of GTBank.
Three men and one woman sustained varying degrees of injuries. They were first taken to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital and the Ewim Polyclinic before firefighters arrived.
The Toyota Echo was completely destroyed in the crash, while the truck suffered partial damage to its engine compartment. Eyewitnesses suggested the Yamouzine truck may have experienced brake failure, though authorities are still investigating the exact cause.
Fire personnel cleared debris and moved the vehicles to the roadside to restore traffic flow.
