The Babianiha community in the Jaman South Municipality has been thrown into mourning following the death of Nana Kwadwo Busia, a well-known local political figure.

Busia, 40, a vocal communications officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), popularly known as Akyiasi Busia, is reported to have died at his cashew farm under circumstances that are yet to be fully established.

According to a report aired on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, a relative, Nana Kwame, indicated that the day had begun normally, with no visible signs of distress.

It was reported that Busia had earlier requested his favourite meal from his wife before the incident occurred.

The wife, who was on her way home, reportedly heard a loud sound from the direction of the farm and rushed back, where she found her husband unresponsive.

The incident has sent shockwaves across the Bono Region, particularly within the NDC, where the late Busia was described as a committed and outspoken party communicator.

When asked about the possible circumstances surrounding the incident, Nana Kwame stated that the exact cause would be determined by police investigations.

He, however, mentioned that a close associate of the deceased was in police custody, with concerns that Busia himself may have been under investigation in connection with an alleged criminal matter.

The police have since been notified and the body has been deposited at the mortuary pending an autopsy.
