Correspondence from the Ashanti Region
Baah Acheamfour, the Deputy Ashanti Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has said that the Ashanti Region plays a critical role in the NDC's electoral strategy, and urged party faithfuls to work hard to upgrade their current performance.
According to him, working hard to add at least 2% to the party's current 33% will be an enough ground to totally 'bury' the NPP from boasting the region as its stronghold.
He stated that maintaining the party's current support level of 33% and aiming for a modest increase could pave the way for a decisive victory against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in impending elections.
"If we can increase our support by just 2%, we will be in a strong position to win the elections," he asserted.
The deputy regional chief scribe delivered this message during the party's Island City Branch end of year celebration held in Kumasi where he was welcomed as a special guest speaker.
Baah Acheamfour commended the members and executives of the Island City branch within the Atwima Kwanwoma constituency for their excellent contributions, which he credited with the party's strong regional performance and victory in the 2024 election.
Acheamfour, who personally coordinated the Atwima Kwanwoma zone, noted that despite tough challenges, the party achieved victory through the collective efforts of all executives, including those from the Island City.
He further credited President John Dramani Mahama for laying much of the groundwork for the party's initiatives and expressed confidence that by continuing to implement positive policies for the nation, the NPP’s influence would diminish significantly.
Meanwhile, the event attracted a significant turnout of dedicated party members, supporters, and key regional figures, indicating the party's commitment to strengthening its presence in the Ashanti Region.
The celebration was marked by a vibrant atmosphere, featuring lively dancing, delicious meals, and a sense of camaraderie among attendees. Notable figures present included the Deputy Youth Organizer and Ashanti Regional Director of the National Service Secretariat (NSS), Emmanuel Reagan Fynn, along with other party executives and stakeholders.
As a gesture of appreciation for their dedication and contributions to the party, several individuals from various branches were honored with gifts in order to recognize their unwavering commitment and sacrifices over the years.
Baah Acheamfour, the Deputy Ashanti Regional Secretary, particularly commended branch executive Luqman Mumuni for his outstanding performance over the period and beyond.
Baah Acheamfour presented Mumuni with an undisclosed amount of money in an envelope, stating that his intention was to motivate the rest of the members to work to an even higher standard.
