Member of Parliament for Shai Osudoku and Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Akweley Ocloo, has urged party executives and loyalists in the constituency to exercise patience.
She assured these individuals that their commitment and sacrifices will be rewarded with opportunities in state institutions in 2026.
She gave the assurance on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, when she hosted over 1,200 party branch executives at her residence in Dodowa as part of activities marking the Christmas festivities.
The beneficiaries were drawn from Dodowa, Agomeda, Asutsuare, Osumem, and other communities within the Shai Osudoku Constituency.
Each executive received a Christmas package made up of a live fowl, a bottle of cooking oil, assorted soft drinks, and a bag of rice.
The event formed part of an annual gesture by the MP to appreciate the efforts of grassroots party leaders who play a critical role in mobilising support and sustaining party structures at the local level.
Addressing the gathering, Ocloo emphasised that patience and loyalty remains key virtues for party executives awaiting opportunities.
“You know this isn’t the first time we’re doing this. I know what branch executives have done to support me and the party and me,” she said.
She noted that while some members have already benefited from appointments and employment within government institutions, others are still in line.
She assured the executives that the party and government are mindful of their contributions and that Shai Osudoku would be strongly considered in upcoming recruitment exercises.
“Some people have already received opportunities in government, while others wait their turn. We pray that Shai Osudoku will be given consideration in the recruitment exercises into the various institutions from January to December 2026,” she stated.
The MP further encouraged the executives to remain active and united, expressing hope that many of them would be retained during the party’s branch reorganisation expected in 2026.
According to her, continued dedication at the grassroots would strengthen the constituency’s case when opportunities become available.
In a demonstration of inclusiveness, Madam Ocloo also made provisions for elderly party members who were not branch executives and could not attend the event.
Their Christmas packages were distributed through the executives, who also conveyed prayers and goodwill messages for better opportunities and improved livelihoods in 2026.
The gesture and the MP’s assurances were met with appreciation from beneficiaries, many of whom described the event as a morale booster.
A branch executive from Asutsuare said the MP’s call for patience had given hope to those who had not yet benefited from government opportunities. “Her words assure us that our time will surely come if we remain committed,” he noted.
Another beneficiary from Dodowa praised Madam Ocloo for her consistency and accessibility. “She continues to stand with us beyond elections. This support has helped our families enjoy the Christmas season,” she said.
Executives also commended the MP for remembering the aged and vulnerable. “Extending packages to elderly members who couldn’t be here shows genuine care and leadership,” an executive from Agomeda remarked.
