Salaga-South MP backs parliamentary leadership training

The Member of Parliament for the Salaga-South Constituency, Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, on November 8, 2025, joined colleagues at the launch of a Capacity Building Programme for the leadership of Parliamentary Committees.

The lawmaker has thrown her support behind a new Parliamentary Leadership Training Programme aimed at strengthening the capacity of committee leaders.

She emphasised that “empowering committee leadership will lead to improved lawmaking, stronger oversight and more responsive governance for constituents across the country.”

The event provided a platform for Members of Parliament to reaffirm their commitment to strengthening the effectiveness and impact of Parliament.

The programme aims to enhance the leadership, oversight and legislative competencies of committee chairs and members, equipping them to deliver more effectively on Parliament’s core mandate.

By deepening knowledge, improving coordination, and fostering innovation in parliamentary work, the initiative seeks to strengthen Parliament’s institutional capacity and promote more responsive and accountable representation for constituents.

Ultimately, empowering committee leadership translates into better laws, stronger oversight, and improved service delivery for the people of Ghana.
