Parents urged to invest in wards education

Suhum (E/R), Jan. 1, GNA - Mr Ofori Addo Acheampong, an educationist has urged parents to invest in the education of their children instead of spending lavishly on marriages, funerals, parties and other ceremonies. He told the Ghana News Agency on Saturday shortly after delivering a Christmas message to a cross-section of parents at Suhum that parents must ensure proper early childhood development for their children Parents, he added, should not expect teachers to 93perform miracles o= n spoilt and pampered children."

Mr Acheampong, who is the Director of the Learning Field International Schools (Akosombo/Suhum branches), also reminded parents that the best legacies they could bequeath their children were knowledge and skills that could make them self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to national development.

He also used the occasion to advice school children to study subjects that could assist them to posses the requisite skills to enable them to compete in the fast developing technological world. Mr Acheampong appealed to students to be disciplined and learn hard in the years ahead so that they could pass their examination to justify the huge investment being made by their parents. The Director said the school operates within a clean and healthy environment.
