The Oti Regional Director of Health Services, Dr Kofi Amo-Kodieh, has emphasised the importance of peace within the Nkwanta township to ensure effective healthcare delivery in the area.
The Director’s observation comes amid ongoing tension and conflict within the Nkwanta township, which has raised concerns about the safety of healthcare workers and their effective delivery of services.
Dr Amo-Kodieh expressed worry about the impact of the conflict on healthcare delivery, highlighting the need for a peaceful environment to ensure the safety of healthcare workers.
He urged all parties involved in the conflict to prioritise peace and stability in the area.
Dr Amo-Kodieh made this commitment during the 2025 half-year performance review meeting held in WoraWora at Biakoye District, with the theme: Strengthening Quality Public Health and Clinical Services for Improved Health Outcomes, The Role of the Health Professional.
He also commended health workers in Nkwanta township for their dedication to healthcare delivery despite the challenging environment.
The Director praised the health workers for their commitment to providing quality healthcare services to the people of Nkwanta.
He urged the health workers to remain vigilant during service delivery, ensuring that they prioritise their safety and well-being.
He prayed for the good health and well-being of the health workers, acknowledging the critical role they play in promoting the health and well-being of the community.
