People of Bamiri appeals for more classroom blocks

Atabourso (B/A), Jan. 22, GNA - The people of Bamiri Electoral Area have appealed to the Techiman Municipal Assembly to build more classroom blocks for the area, to enhance teaching and learning. Mr. Stephen Takyi, Assembly Member for the Area, made the call at the commencement of construction of a six-unit classroom block, an office, store, staff common room, urinal and toilets for the Local Authority Primary and Junior High Schools, at Bamiri.

The project which is being funded by the District Development Fund is expected to be completed by 2011. Mr. Takyi commended Mr. Alex Kofi Kyeremeh, the Municipal Chief Executive, for ensuring equitable implementation of projects in the area. He called for the extension of electricity to newly developed sites in the electoral area.

Mr. Kyeremeh commended the people for their contribution towards the development of the area and assured them of government's support and assistance.

Mr. Kyeremeh asked the chiefs to support education in the area and appealed to the people to pay their taxes regularly and promptly. He called on the people to support the chiefs and assembly members for the development of the area. Mr. Kyeremeh reminded the public that the ban on hunting in the municipality was in force. Nana Obiri Yeboah Kokroko, Bamirihene and Tutuhene of Techiman Traditional Area, commended the assembly for improving education in the area.
